Spring/Summer 2014
Protection

Titled 'Protection', Ksenia Schnaider's Spring/Summer 2014 collection is inspired by the importance of the
protective function of clothing in a utilitarian and sacred sense. Collars on clergy dress, military pants,
tunics and shirts in work clothing, lapel badges, rubber bands, square-cut aprons, astronaut suits, long
sleeves, and coarse cloth. All of these elements are seen, sometimes in only a very minor way, throughout
the collection.

Referring to the theme of disguise and camouflage in their previous Spring/Summer 2013 collections,
Ksenia and Anton continue to develop the idea as a continuous one in the present, but in a broader sense.
This time they are not only concerned about camouflage, but defence as a whole. This collection presents
a new, simpler black & white camouflage print, designed by Anton.
Ksenia Schnaider have and continue to create clothing that aims to last, ensuring that it will withstand
seasons, if not years. The designs not only in this collection, but in previous collections also, therefore
present themselves as simple, conscious, and undoubtedly timeless.
