Something Old
Something New
Something Borrowed
Something Blue

After a long uncertain break, KSENIASCHNAIDER is coming back strong with a collection which is illuminated by the simple energy of rebirth.

In Pre-Spring 2021 Ksenia is referencing the idea of a bride — someone who is entering an unknown life that is full of hopes. The heroine of the collection is wearing white to signal the purity of character. The clothes are channelling female energy which is not provocative, but rather a woman that is an embodiment of light in a challenging circumstance. That is an image borrowed from how a British painter Meredith Frampton is portraying women in her work.

The something old and the something new of the line are the leftover materials which were used to produce the collection and the feeling of a new life that is right coming in full swing for the whole planet. The collection is made up entirely of dead-stock fabrics, textile waste and second-hand, which is a great metaphor for cultivating hope from what scattered pieces of life people got leftover in the midst of pandemic and the subsequent economic crisis.

And of course, there is a certain something blue that is a big part of the philosophy of the brand. Pre-Spring 2021 features patchwork jacket, jeans, shorts and skirts which were upcycled from second-hand blue denim.
